Memorial Day Event at Charlotte Hall
A Memorial Day ceremony was held at Charlotte Hall Veterans Home. The Keynote speaker, former Maryland State Senator John Astle is standing to the left of the American Flag and Maryland Department of Veterans Affairs Secretary George Owings is to the right of the American Flag. Both gentlemen served in the United States Marine Corps and are Vietnam Veterans.
Col. Astle participated in a Gilchrist Zoom meeting:
Col. Astle spoke on the topic of the origins of the Purple Heart at the Daughters of the American Revolution meeting.
